Brand identity proposal for Fresh Cuts barber shop in the city of Rotterdam, The Netherlands. In order to create a new brand identity I wanted to empower the name through simplicity, something vibrant that reflects the speed with the name it has, fresh and fast.
In order to create a new brand identity I wanted to empower the name through simplicity, something vibrant that reflects the speed with the name it has, fresh and fast. I looked at sources of inspiration such as; vintage candy bar wrappers, the bootleg art movement and Florida Donk culture (where it is a big trend to pimp out cars in honour of snack foods). The advertising techniques using bright colours and simple shapes that attract attention have led to making this logo as it is.
The Logo
I played around with shapes from the packaging industry, which resulted in the logo being given a quirky shape by adding an orange swirl. Although this sizing can be a restriction to work with, these principles ensure that the elements tend to be applied as an overlay in the style of the brand. I wanted to apply this flaw purposely because it makes a visually powerful statement.
